Our Beginning

319 Golf Society believes that golf should be accessible to everyone, and our membership helps to drive that mission forward. Initially, 319 will support the Congaree Foundation Scholarship for Coastal Carolina University’s PGA Golf Management program. Half of our membership fees directly support this award, which provides resources and opportunities to first-year, full-time, South Carolina residents who have completed the Congaree Foundation programming.

About Congaree Foundation

The Congaree Foundation provides resources for educational and vocational opportunities through golf to help shape the lives of underserved and ambitious youths locally and around the globe. Its signature program is the Congaree Global Golf Initiative, an immersive collegiate preparatory curriculum tailored toward high school students in the U.S. and internationally. Participants come to Congaree each summer and work with educators, guidance counselors and golf instructors to advance their preparation for the college admissions process and prepare them for success in life. In the Lowcountry, Congaree Foundation operates several programs and partnerships with valuable community organizations including Lowcountry Food Bank and Boys & Girls Club of Jasper County. The Foundation also works to increase access to the game of golf for area students through youth golf instruction programs and Sergeant Jasper Golf Club.

Our Future

As we begin to expand our community, 319 Golf Society is committed to growing beyond this scholarship by providing additional opportunities and resources to ambitious and underserved golfers through other organizations such as the First Tee and Caddy Programs. We hope to grow the game of golf by enabling women and minorities to pursue their dreams of working in the golf industry or playing at the collegiate level.

Par-fours are the most common hole on traditional golf courses, so the circled “3” in “319” represents a birdie, or scoring one stroke less than par, on these holes. “19” denotes the bar room or restaurant, often in the clubhouse, that the golfers will reach at the end of their round.

Our Company Values

We are focused on improving the quality of golf being easy to obtain or use by providing opportunities for a new generation of golf that encourages women and minorities to not only play the game, but also pursue a career in the golf industry.

We believe community is about fostering meaningful connections between individuals, and how these connections can be forged and bolstered on the golf course. We place a high value on getting involved with groups and organizations to provide opportunities for our community members to network and connect with one another.

We are determined to challenge the discrimination within the golf industry by providing equal opportunities and resources for young, underserved golfers to follow a path of either working in the industry or playing at the collegiate level. We are all committed to promoting an environment that treats everyone justly in terms of status, rights, and opportunities.

Through the scholarship, we are dedicated to positively impacting the lives of young people across the globe who share a passion for golf regardless of gender, race, or income. This opportunity provides financial resources that will enable ambitious students to pursue their dreams of working in the golf industry or playing at the collegiate level.

Good sportsmanship builds teamwork, character, and teaches respect, honor, discipline, kindness, inclusion, resilience, perseverance, and more. We highly value the ability to conduct oneself in a kind and respectful manner, even in a competitive environment.

As leaders in our communities, our team is dedicated to holding ourselves accountable by using our platforms and resources to independently assist others that were not afforded the same opportunities.
